Rebranding a Fleet: A Case Study of Retrofitting 500 Vehicles Across 12 Locations

Updated: Nov 1

PROJET SCOPE

When Summit Utilities acquired CenterPoint Energy, they needed to update 500 fleet vehicles, located across 15 locations in two states. The new identity had to be executed quickly to keep their fleet vehicles on the road.

CHALLENGE

Details mattered: from the printing and shipping the new graphics, removing the old graphics, leaving no adhesive residue, installing new logos, DOT numbers and unique unit numbers - all on time and on budget. With the rebrand taking place in January, our installation crews battled both the clock and the elements.

We consolidated the installations into two centralized installation hubs to minimize shipping delays and vehicle downtime. Our professional installers worked with their dedicated project manager to overcome the challenges with precision and efficiency. To meet the client’s deadline, three installation crews worked simultaneously, seven days a week, displaying remarkable dedication and precision.

Each vehicle had a unique unit number, and ensuring they were sent to the right location and installed on the right vehicle required attention to detail from the project manager to the individual installers to ensure accuracy.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Effective project management was critical to the success of the Summit Utilities rebrand. Our structured reports and real time dashboards ensured seamless communication and alignment of expectations between the client, installers, and their dedicated Lowen project manager.

GRAPHICS REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The Summit Utilities vehicles were already branded with the former logo. Our team had to remove the old graphics, ensuring no adhesive residue was left behind and no damage to the pain beneath. Then they installed the new door logos to Summits’ exact specifications and updated DOT numbers in compliance with regulatory codes and assigned unique unit numbers.

The Summit Utilities fleet rebranding project showcases our ability to manage large-scale rebranding projects with tight deadlines and challenging conditions. Our strategic approach to project-management ensured the job was completed on time and on budget, delivering excellent results to the client.
